YONI -Konstkupp mot Konstfacks Kukar, dag 1

Då har första dagen gått på YONI-utställningen. Jag tycker det har gått bra. Intresse har funnits, passerande har sagt att det är ett bra initiativ. Utställningen lever sitt egna liv, information finns uppe och det är tydligt var alla kan lämna sina konstverk.

KL 10:00 hade jag satt upp skylt, mitt konstverk och väntade med spänning på den stora mediaanstormingingen till Konstfacks presskonferens. Men intresset verkade svalt för LINGAM. En reporter från radio var där. Jag förklarade vad syftet med YONI är; nämligen att lagom till LINGAMS vernissage den 11 september kunna presentera lika många fruktsamhetssymboler i YONIS namn som det finns i LINGAMS.

Innan lunch fanns det tre konstverk på plats.

 

PRISA GUD, VÄLSIGNADE ÖVERDÅD! Or PRAISE THE LORD, THEY'RE SO MANY!

The Lingam, the phallus, is everywhere. When understanding symbols we are all trained experts of the post-Freudian era, and see skyscrapers as economical phalli, straight-postured presidents as political phalli, and trees, giraffes and stalagmites as natural phalli. We search for the phallus, and we find the phallus.

The Yoni, the vulva, is everywhere, and please note that while these presented Yoni-objects are all taken from nature I do not mean to play into the hands of mystificated nature-bound femaleness, its just hard to find the yoni-shape in design and architecture, in the man made world.

Which isn't strange, as the Lingam has been widely portrayed and re-portrayed since ancient cultures.

Thousands of years of symbolic understanding.

But please let these Yoni-shapes remind you of Yonis past and present. The Yoni-shape is all around you. The Yoni itself is all around you. The first one you experience was your mothers. There will have been others, of friends, maybe your own; perhaps some were sexual to you.

Life and sex are inseparable, but not always present together. There are no contradictions in reality. Feel free to have thoughts and feelings.

Feel free to feel these Yoni objects. They're so many!

Under eftermiddagen fick utställningen leva sitt egna liv. När jag kom tillbaka ca 16 för att plocka ner den för kvällen hade två konstverk till hängts upp och lagts till på listan. Så himla roligt! Medan jag packade ner konstverken kom två konstfacksstudenter förbi som sa att de hört om YONI och att de minsann också skulle göra fruktsamhetssymboler.
